The aid includes funding for rescue teams, temporary shelters for homeless people, food, emergency medical care, and especially the cost of searching for those still missing in deep floodwaters. But what has surprised fans the most is not the amount – but the way the team did it.

“No press conferences, no big announcements – the Yankees do it quietly. They’re not just a team. They’re part of the community.” – Quoted from a local volunteer.

Inside sources revealed that Yankees players, coaches and staff contributed from their own salaries and personal funds, combined with the team’s charity to quickly transfer the relief funds within 48 hours of the disaster.

As soon as this information was revealed, social media exploded. Thousands of people shared and thanked the Yankees for their “unpretentious but humane” actions. One fan wrote:

“They not only hit the ball well, they also have hearts bigger than Yankee Stadium.”
