“This is a significant matter that we plan to pursue vigorously,” Buzbee stated during a press conference. Combs’ attorney, Erica Wolff, responded that the rapper “strongly and categorically” denies the allegations, labeling them as “false and defamatory.”
Buzbee emphasized that his team will investigate all parties potentially involved in the alleged misconduct. Wolff expressed confidence that Combs will prove his innocence in court, asserting that the truth will come out based on evidence rather than speculation.
This lawsuit comes amidst other legal troubles for Combs, who was arrested last week and faces charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. He is currently in federal custody after being denied bail, a decision he is contesting.
Buzbee represents a total of 120 alleged victims, divided equally between men and women from over 25 states. Notably, 25 of these individuals are minors, marking the first allegations against Combs regarding child sexual abuse.
The claims span from 1991 to the present, with many incidents reportedly occurring in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami, primarily after 2015. Most plaintiffs assert they were date-raped following parties hosted by Combs at various venues and private residences.
Buzbee indicated that these parties were often associated with album releases or holiday celebrations. Many aspiring artists were allegedly coerced into compromising situations under promises of fame.
