A little over a month since his death, Liam Payne is finally being laid to rest.
Liam was remembered and honored at a memorial service on Wednesday, November 20, in the Home Counties. Friends and family gathered to lay his body to rest. His ex, Cheryl Cole, was seen leaving to the funeral after he memorial service at the church, wearing a black trench coat and sunglasses with her hair styled back in waves and her bangs covering her face.
Cheryl and Liam share a seven-year-old son, Bear. The two dated in 2016 and split after two years. The two had Bear in 2017 and remained co-parents after their split. Funeral directors placed a floral tribute which said “Daddy” outside of the Home Counties church.

Cheryl shared a touching tribute after Liam’s passing. She wrote: “Liam was not only a pop star and a celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our seven-year-old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again.”

Mourners, including his One Direction bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, gathered at a small church in the Home Countries to say goodbye to the pop star. His girlfriend Kate Cassidy was also in attendance, as well as Simon Cowell, the founder of the boy band, comedian and former late night television host, James Corden, This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes and husband Marvin, Capital Breakfast’s Jordan North and Sian Welby and Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud.
Liam died on Wednesday October 16 after falling from a third story balcony at a hotel he was staying at in Argentina. He was in Buenos Aires to attend 1D bandmate Niall’s concert with girlfriend Kate, who left two days before his tragic fall. Before the announcement of his shocking death, Liam posted Snapchat videos about his stay in Argentina with Kate and what was to come.
Devastated fans quickly set up a makeshift memorial in front of the hotel where he died with photos, candles, flowers, and notes. Liam’s father Geoff visited the impromptu tribute while in in Buenos Aires.
