Rodney, a 57-year-old from Iowa, has dramatically changed his life, losing 224 lbs and achieving his dream of living independently and becoming a nurse, all thanks to naked yoga.
Before his transformation, Rodney struggled with obesity his entire life, facing stares and hurtful comments. At his heaviest, weighing 504 lbs, he lived in his father’s basement and felt completely defeated. This painful experience motivated him to take control of his health and pursue a career in healthcare instead of staying in corporate sales.
Determined to change, Rodney realized that his habits were holding him back. “Food was my comfort and my addiction,” he said. After enduring humiliating moments, like being misgendered in public, he knew he had to make a choice: pursue his dream of becoming an EMT and eventually a nurse or continue down a path of unhealthy living.
Despite trying various diets and weight-loss methods, success was elusive until he bought a stationary bike for $25 and discovered naked yoga. “I rode the bike so much, I wore it out,” he recalled. Starting yoga at 365 lbs, he opted for private classes since group settings felt intimidating. Eventually, he found True Naked Yoga online, which helped him confront body image issues in a supportive environment.
Rodney’s eating habits transformed dramatically. He moved away from excessive carbs and drive-thru meals, opting for healthier choices like turkey and vegetables. Now, he practices intermittent fasting and focuses on unprocessed foods.
Since beginning his journey in 2010, Rodney has lost significant weight and is currently aiming to shed another 100 lbs. He’s found that everyday activities are much easier and more enjoyable. “Imagine carrying around extra water jugs and then being freed from them,” he explained.
Rodney’s journey has not only improved his physical health but also his self-confidence. He attributes much of his success to naked yoga, which has fostered a deeper appreciation for his body. With ongoing support from True Naked Yoga, he looks forward to reaching his goals and continuing to thrive.
