Paw Angel Animal Rescue saw the event and immediately realized they had no choice but to assist the loving mother and her babies.
Misty Boerger said, “I saw the photo, and it just just broke my heart. I phoned Angel, and together we went and rescued the dogs.”
Angel Urban and Misty Boerger picked up the mother dog and her offspring and transported them in the trunk of their vehicle.
Misty emailed, “I just don’t know how someone could do that, abandoning mom and two-week-old kids,” and she added, “I just don’t know how someone could do that.”
The adorable dog mother, who was eventually given the name Dory, required quick veterinary treatment.
Angel elucidated, “We noticed a number of open wounds on her that were draining,” which referred to the victim.
Unfortunately, the veterinarian found a tumor in the neck of one of her puppies, and he had to be euthanized as a result of the condition.
Misty was aware that the puppies need care around the clock, and as a result, she made the decision to quarantine them for a period of two weeks.
“Mom and the pups are no longer in danger. They are going to spend the next two weeks here with me before moving on to a foster home that will be their forever home.
“The smaller baby will require more attention and care, and I can tube feed,” explained Misty as she appealed for funds to assist the furry family. “They will be put for adoption when they have been spayed and neutered and the mom has been spayed.”
“From Abandoned to Diva: Dory’s narrative” is the name of a Facebook page that was made to tell the story of this courageous furry mom and her young ones. The loving mamma looks like a different dog today compared to how she was when she was dumped.
People who take the time to care for animals are unsung heroes in our eyes, and we will be eternally thankful to them.
